Your boudoir session is all about you – not someone else.
When we first opened our Portland boudoir photography studio, we thought we would be doing a lot of bridal boudoir sessions! I mean, that’s often the only time we hear of someone getting to have the boudoir experience. However, the longer we have done this and the more we have learned about this industry, we quickly learned that boudoir is an experience that EVERYONE should get to have – regardless of relationship status.
The number of emails and DMs we get that say something along the lines of “I want to do a boudoir sesssion, but I don’t have anyone to give the photos to,” always breaks our hearts because you absolutely don’t need a significant other to give photos to have this truly magical and empowering experience.
Here are our four reasons why you SHOULD do a boudoir photoshoot, even if you are single:
1. There’s no pressure
When you are doing a boudoir shoot for no one but yourself, a lot of the pressure to wear or pose in a way that your partner finds appealing goes away. Instead of doing this for someone else, YOU get to take charge. You get to choose to express yourself in a way that is 100% authentic to you.
2. You will get a HUGE confidence boost
Every single person we have worked with has told us how much they have seen an increase in their confidence since doing their boudoir shoot. There is something about being raw and genuine in front of a camera that reminds you just how powerful you are!
3. You will have a daily reminder of how attractive you are
When you do a boudoir shoot, not only are you getting a fun experience in the studio, but you will also get beautiful photos that will last a lifetime that show off just how beautiful you are. I can’t even start to explain how amazing it is to hear from clients who have done a boudoir shoot with us and then go on to tell us that they are so happy they did the shoot because they can look back at the photos and be reminded of how beautiful they are!
4. You can always give them to a future significant other
Just because you do not have a significant other now, does not mean you will not have one in the future. Think about how cute it would be if you had some gorgeous and sexy photos of yourself from before you and your spouse met that you could gift them!
